MODUS X at the “Role of the Tech Industry in Ukraine’s Recovery” Conference

Business Conference “The Role of the Tech Industry in Ukraine’s Recovery”

On October 21, Kyiv hosted the business conference “The Role of the Tech Industry in Ukraine’s Recovery,” organized by the We Build Ukraine think tank. The event served as a platform for dialogue between business leaders, investors, government officials, and technology experts to discuss the role of the IT sector in rebuilding the country and shaping a new economy.

The conference was held within the framework of the Ukraine Economic Growth Strategy, developed in cooperation with Boston Consulting Group. The document identifies the IT sector as one of the eight most promising areas for post-war recovery and long-term development.

Key Takeaways from the We Build Ukraine Panel Discussion

One of the event’s key sessions was a panel discussion on human capital development, focused on retaining IT professionals in Ukraine, transforming education, and reintegrating veterans. The discussion featured Snizhana Katsiuba, Chief Human Resources Officer at MODUS X.

In her speech, the speaker emphasized the complex nature of talent outflow from the IT market and underlined the importance of combining basic security with a sense of purpose at work.

“For professionals today, it’s critical to feel not just stability, but also the meaningfulness of their work. At MODUS X, we offer a hybrid format, office spaces equipped with shelters, and comprehensive psychological support for employees and their families. Our IT specialists are involved in projects that support the country’s critical infrastructure — and that creates a real sense of contribution,”
said Snizhana Katsiuba .

She also highlighted the topic of education and talent development. According to her, MODUS X is expanding partnerships with universities and tech companies to create practice-oriented programs:

“Right now, we’re co-developing a master’s program in digital transformation with KNEU. We actively involve technology partners — Creatio and SAP — in our educational projects. This collaboration gives students relevant knowledge and a real understanding of how innovation is applied in business.”

Addressing the reintegration of veterans, Snizhana stressed that demographic trends create new responsibilities for businesses:

“We are already facing a demographic crisis, and veterans are becoming a pillar of the economy. Businesses must create programs for adaptation, reskilling, and support for those returning from service. It’s also important to strengthen career guidance systems, especially in the regions.”

The conference brought together representatives of leading Ukrainian companies, experts, and international partners. Participants discussed investment opportunities for the tech sector, human capital development, and the impact of artificial intelligence on the economy.

We Build Ukraine is an independent think tank that unites businesses, experts, government, and international institutions to develop solutions for Ukraine’s economic recovery. Its mission is to promote reforms and attract investment by supporting investment projects, conducting research, educational programs, sectoral conferences, and advocacy campaigns.
